Pollinators at WorkSaturday, July 24, 10 a.m. - 12 noon, Clatsop Plains / Neacoxie Wildlife Corridor
Discover the mighty role that tiny pollinators play in the life cycle of plants and wildlife on the Clatsop Plains. We'll be looking at native plants and wildflowers, and the pollinators that help them to survive and thrive. We'll meet at the Surf Pines gatehouse at 10 a.m. and proceed onto NCLC's Neacoxie Wildlife Corridor property to the North. To get there, drive north from Seaside / Gearhhart on Highway 101. About 1/2 mile past Del Rey Road, look for Surf Pines Lane to the west and take that to the gatehouse [map]. Dress for the weather and bring sturdy shoes. We won't be going very far but the ground is uneven and we'll be tromping through tall grass that may be wet. Please leave your pets at home. And be sure to check out our other upcoming events here. |

North Coast Land Conservancy's Gateway to Discovery field programs provide an entry point to Oregon's coastal riches -- birding, geology, and a salmon rich watershed. These programs serve the community and its visitors by extending beyond the walls of any building. Come walk in an ancient spruce forest, learn about local birding in a restored estuarine lake, watch for bald eagles while the tides come and go, learn about the region's natural, cultural, and historical resources. |
